Academic Counseling

For International High School Students

Quest’s Academic Counseling is for students who need assistance navigating through the American school system. You’ll receive the academic support and counseling you need to improve your grades and complete your study abroad program. Our trained counselors assess each student’s academic needs and tailor each session so that it has the greatest possible benefit. Counselors work with students on a monthly basis to set goals, teach better study habits, and give tips on test-taking, all of which help raise student grades.

Academic counselors use dual levels of support to help you focus on developing skills and habits you need for academic success in the American school system. The first level includes academic and interpersonal skills, goal setting, confidence building, time management, study methods, and effective classroom communication. The second level of support focuses on grades, academic performance and raising your GPA. As specific academic weaknesses are identified, counselors help students stay focused on their classes, homework and effective communication with teachers. Monthly reviews submitted by counselors help parents follow their child’s progress throughout the school year.

Academic Counseling is  recommended for students who:

  • Are in the 8th, 9th,10th, 11th and 12th grades
  • Want to raise their GPA
  • Need guidance so they can gain college acceptance in the future
  • Require academic credit for their program in the U.S.
