Quest gives Zimbabwe Student Scholarship
Here is the rest of Bryton’s story….
Often, we tend to think of the entire world as much like the one in which we live, which is very true! My name is Bryton Chikukwa. I was born and raised in a family of three boys in Zimbabwe Africa. It was hard for me to picture success outside my own country because I considered the world from such a compressed perspective within my own culture and traditions. My family did not have the resources to ever think about sending me to the U.S. for my education.
It was only after Quest International and a wonderful American family sponsored me in 2012 that I began to develop a much greater understanding of the world as a whole. (continues below…)
I came to the U.S. to finish my senior year of high school. Little did I know that my 1-year experience would turn into more years of wonderful and exciting opportunities. After graduating from high school, I went to attend SUNY Adirondack in upstate New York and pursued an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Through hard work and determination, I graduated and transferred to a 4-year college where I got my Bachelors in Business Management from Skidmore College. My next goal is to pursue a Master’s Degree in Finance in the future. I believe that knowledge is power and this education will allow me to return to Zimbabwe and take part in the building of Zimbabwe’s economy. I feel very lucky that I was part of Quest International Exchange program. Most importantly, working and keeping in contact with the staff helped a great deal as they offered various advice concerning career opportunities and goals to consider in life.
As an exchange student, I have gained valuable experience. It has allowed me to gain a global perspective as well as cultural awareness around me. I still find myself constantly learning and acquiring new skills within my environment. Throughout this experience, I have accomplished things I only dreamt of in Zimbabwe. I never thought it would be possible. Thanks to Quest International and I know this program will have a long-lasting impact on my life and family.
Thank you Quest! Bryton Chikukwa
