High School Abroad

Have you dreamed of being able to live and study abroad for a high school year or semester?

 

Quest International’s High School Abroad program is open to American high school students ages 15-18. Our objective is to give students an opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversities that can only be experienced by living in a foreign country. By embracing an opportunity to live and study abroad, students will not only acquire important language skills, but gain a new perspective on the ever-changing global world, meet new friends and experience life from a whole new perspective!

 

Trying to learn a foreign language in an American High School has its limitations. Immersion is the best way to learn a foreign language and gain a true cultural experience. By living, studying and breathing a foreign culture, the learning experience is greatly accelerated. Many countries do not require previous language training. If you want to become an International exchange student and live abroad, you should have a willingness to learn a foreign language and want to share your American cultural experiences with your host family.

• Host families provide you with lodging and meals. In return they ask that students participate as an active member of their family and be open to cultural differences.
• Host families are carefully selected and screened. Our goal is to find families that are genuinely interested in sharing their culture with an international student. Many of our host families have already sent their son/daughter to the United States and are familiar with the program.

Students are provided a representative at the local level who will not only assist with the adjustment period, but will be on hand to help answer questions, work on problems and encourage their student throughout the exchange. Representatives are trained, have experience working with teenagers and maintain monthly contact with student and host family members to ensure that all participants are having a positive experience.

Quest International recognizes that the commitment of spending an entire semester or year abroad can be a challenging experience for teenagers. We are available every step of the way, from the application process to your return home.

 

Our program includes:

• Placement with a qualified host family
• Placement in a local high school
• Preparation information and materials
• Orientation meetings in the United States and in host country
• A local network of representatives in your host family community
• School textbooks for compulsory subjects
• Assistance and administration of application, placement, visa procedures, travel
• Certification Diploma upon completion of program

Countries currently offered: Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, and U.K.
